Glenda Carter is the Treasurer on the finance committee of the board of directors of PSR/RPS Ontario.
Glenda is Program Manager for Vocational Services at Frontenac Community Mental Health services (FCMHS). She has 20 years experience working in the mental health field. She began her career working directly with clients providing a variety of services including residential support, living skills development and social recreation, crisis intervention and case management. These experiences were invaluable in the development of her PSR philosophy and practice. She has had the opportunity to observe and support individuals on their road to recovery and she believe that PSR is an integral part of recovery.
Her managerial career started 15 years ago at Frontenac Community Mental Health Services. Through program development it was her goal to create an environment that would encourage creativity, innovation and growth. This vision lead to the development of many services, most recently a comprehensive Vocational Program.
Glenda is a CPRP, a graduate from the PSR certificate program through St. Lawrence College and a Career Development Practitioner.
Susanne Allman is the Secretary of the board of directors of PSR/RPS Ontario.
Susanne is a Social Rehabilitation Coordinator for the Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce Branch Leisure Links Program at the Hanover site. She also is a Community Leisure Access Worker for the Central Grey Bruce Community Mental Health Team. She has 18 years experience working in the mental health field. She began her career working directly with clients providing a variety of services including residential support, living life skills development, social recreation, crisis intervention and case management. Susanne has worked in the Mental Health field both in Ontario and Alberta.
Susanne is a CPRP, an honors graduate from the PSR Certificate Program through Humber College. In addition she is a person with lived experience.
Deborrah Sherman is Executive Director since March 2008 of Ontario Peer Development Initiative, the provincial voice for consumer/survivor initiatives and peer support organizations, located in Toronto. Prior to this, she was for eight years the ED of Mental Health Rights Coalition of Hamilton. She has been a part time instructor of Mohawk College's distance education PSR 02 Course and is currently a lay member of Legal Aid Ontario's Hamilton Area Committee. In the past, Deb sat as a public member on the Consent and Capacity Review Board for 12 years. Previous occupations were centred around the printing and graphic arts industry, and she was the owner, publisher and entire staff of Canada Quilts Magazine for 7 years. Deb is an amateur actor involved in annual productions of Ancaster Community Theatre, and is a recent beginner in genealogy research. Deb is married with two adult children and lives in Hamilton.
Currently Karyn is the Manager of Clinical Services at Canadian Mental Health Association – Sudbury Manitoulin branch. She has worked in community mental health for 20 years. She earned her BA in psychology from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY. She completed an internship at Rochester Psychiatric Hospital on the psychiatric rehabilitation floor. She has lived and worked most of her career in northern Ontario, including: Wawa, Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury. She spent one year in rural Saskatchewan as a Mental Health Therapist. In 1997, she received her MS in Rehabilitation Counseling from Boston University.
